Selection of Initiatives
The 5th Global YES Summit - Rework the World, brought together 1700 participants and hundreds of ideas and initiatives from around the world. These present the emerging new business and organisational models that could shape a better tomorrow.
A total of over 100 concrete ventures was featured in action-oriented Reworkshops during the summit. These ventures got dedicated space – to inspire others, to raise challenges – and to take on advice and support from other participants.
Out of the 100 + ventures featured, the 10 most promising was presented to a high-level panel of real investors and senior advisors - and an audience of a thousand, in the Rework Investment Forum, that took place Saturday, June 5.
Ventures was selected to be among the group of 100, or 10, based on their potential to turn into real forces of change. They are therefore assessed with these questions in mind:
- IS THIS ADDRESSING A CORE SOCIAL OR ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY CHALLENGE? (eg. is the initiative targeting a real problem in society, economy or eco-system?)
- IS THIS CREATING JOBS OR ENGAGING PEOPLE? (eg. is the initiative creating new opportunities for meaningful engagement in society or new opportunities for income generation?)
- IS THIS NEW? (eg. in terms of technology, distribution, organizational culture, business model, financing, etc)
- IS THIS SCALABLE OR TRANSFERABLE? (Is the organisation/ team able to scale, or is the idea transferable to other places?)
